Description

Working with a non-profit client in Brooklyn seeking a CASAC or CASAC-T Counselor. CASAC Counselor are to provide intervention to clients with substance abuse and addiction. Duties consist of assessment, crisis intervention and treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services in the form of individual, group or family sessions.
  • Advocate on behalf of program participants to ensure they receive the proper treatment plans.
  • Ensure all relevant case related information and assessment of the clients progress and treatment sessions are inputted into a specific database.
  • Provide treatment plans for family members or other individuals related to the client.
  • Provide coverage in emergency situations and crisis intervention.
  • Flexibility to work on occasional weekend.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalent required.
  • Two year experience in social services and addiction services required.
  • CASAC or CASAC-T Certification.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Good organization and computer skills required.
